The Village of Cumberland’s new water treatment plant was designed by Koers & Associates in Parksville, BC and constructed by Knapett Industries. The water treatment plant draws from a source that has seasonal changes in water quality, so the UV reactors had to be designed to safely treat a wide range of flow rates at a low UVT. Xylem-Wedeco’s Spektron 900e reactors were selected through an evaluated bid process, and were commissioned at the plant in the summer of 2020.
